Classical ‘makerspace’ pedagogy invites students to use STEM-based thinking to explore their interests, engage in complex thinking, investigate abstract ideas, question, design, and, above all, invent! ‘Changemaker’-space creates the opportunity for change agency and justice-oriented learning as gifted learners take on civic roles through STEM problem- and project-based learning.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will consider the role STEM opportunities play in change-agency initiatives.
Attendees will be able to understand the change-agency components of a 'changemaker-space' initiative.
Attendees will be able to brainstorm how their STEM-based tasks may support change agency initiatives.
