Meeting the needs of gifted learners should not mean more work or additional work for teachers or students. Look at instructional practices through the lens of gifted extension and enrichment. Gifted instruction is truly just good solid instruction. This session examines what that looks like and how teachers can adapt what they are currently doing to meet the needs of gifted learners in the general education classroom.
Learning Objectives:
Attendees will learn how to approach high-quality gifted instruction within the confines of a general education classroom when other service models are not an option.
Attendees will understand that differentiation for a gifted learner does NOT mean additional or extra work; participants will understand that needs can be met through adjusting content, process, or product.
Attendees will identify at least one lesson or learning outcome they already use that can be adjusted to meet gifted learning needs.
