Are you looking to implement research-based practices supporting equity and excellence into your identification process? Are you unsure about the universal screening and local norms processes or how things might look in your setting? Panelists bring various perspectives (state director, district coordinators, researcher) to discuss practical implementation strategies to identify students’ advanced academic needs and use data to serve them.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will demonstrate understanding of the universal screening and local norms processes and the research evidence supporting their use.
  • Attendees will evaluate their own setting and describe how universal screening and local norms might be implemented in that setting.
  • Attendees will determine what roadblocks exist in their setting for implementing universal screening and local norms and describe how they might address practical considerations for implementation.
