Do you know a student who hates being asked “What are you going to do when you graduate?" Career counseling is a frequently requested service among gifted students and families. This session identifies the unique career development needs of gifted students through the developmental lens of Career Construction Theory and explores supportive strategies for educators and families.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss assumptions of career development among gifted students and learn to provide empirically supported information about career development needs for gifted students.
Discuss approaches for comprehensive career development in the K-12 environment for parents and educators.
Provide suggestions for families and educators and engage audience members in demonstrations of supportive strategies.
