Critical Service Learning for Gifted Children (CSL-GC) is a framework that supports the development of creative, socially-engaged change agents. This session guides participants through the framework, curriculum objectives, and the development of a social-justice oriented classroom. To close the session, participants engage in a discussion of the perils of teaching in our current socio-political climate.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the Critical Service Learning for Gifted Children (CSL-GC) framework and the role of reflection in students' development.
  • Recognize how CSL-GC addresses students' asynchronous cognitive and psychosocial needs.
  • Understand how to support social-justice orientated classrooms.
