This session explores equity and access as participants capture data from federal databases to calculate district-level GT enrollment patterns and trends using the different equity calculation methods used by researchers in the field. Participants are provided with a digital template to use in gathering and calculating data. A computer or tablet is recommended to fully engage in these hands-on activities.

Identify distinct data categories that should be collected from different databases to provide a more holistic view of GT equity data sets to inform decision making at the local level.
Understand how to calculate GT equity data using methods used by research scholars to support local program improvements and foster a deeper understanding of new research studies.
Recognize the value in collecting and analyzing GT student equity data to foster improvements at the local level to promote identifying and supporting diverse student groups in GT programs.
