Acceleration is a well-researched practice to avoid boredom and reduce the time to complete traditional schooling. One Ohio school district worked with a local college to design accelerated chemistry experiences for gifted adolescent students with promising results. Attendees learn of this district's experience and have the opportunity to learn how to replicate this programming in districts across the country.

Learning Objectives:

Create focused acceleration programs to foster early interest in STEM disciplines
Evaluate differences in student learning outcomes from this program to make evidence-based decisions on program improvement in their own schools.
Apply strategies for providing gifted students with opportunities to grow outside their individual talent area.
