Coaching in Gifted Education: Tools for Building Capacity and Catalyzing Change

Instructional coaching is a way to build capacity in other teachers for ongoing and manageable differentiation. Through modeling, observing, and providing reflective feedback, gifted education coaches can serve as “co-thinking” collaborative partners in supporting regular education teachers. Learn tools and “how-to” steps for instructional coaching that equip teachers to challenge and support gifted students all day every day.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to apply a talent development coaching model.
  • Practice skills for communication and reflective feedback in the context of gifted coaching.
  • Self-reflect on current collaborative practices with regular education teachers using sample templates.
