Academy Director Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning, Colorado
In 2010, one K-8 school opened as a free public gifted education school without entrance requirements. The traditional programs in the area protested, asking how it could call itself a gifted program without test score entry. Over the last thirteen years, the school has won state recognition for excellence and for significant academic growth with gifted students.

Attendees will consider the best practices of this school and how these are successful within the community.
Attendees will reflect on a series of questions about their own philosophies and will identify areas where innovation would benefit students.
