Creating a Mad Science summer enrichment camp is an engaging way to increase STEM learning and create opportunities for deeper exploration for gifted students. Students learn to love science through hands-on approaches to physics, biology, chemistry, and the outdoors. Promoting STEM curiosity through science enrichment can be done with simple items at a low cost with the ideas and plans discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Attendees will gain knowledge of current research showing the effects of enrichment camps on gifted students.
  • Attendees will receive a pedagogical toolkit
  • Attendees will be able to conduct a Mad Science Camp at their school with low-cost materials in order to provide access to more students
