Cheryll Adams received her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in gifted education from the University of Virginia and is the Director Emerita of the Center for Gifted Studies and Talent Development at Ball State University. She holds a BSEd in secondary science from the University of Georgia and endorsements in elementary education and gifted education. She currently teaches on-line courses in gifted education and has presented widely at local, state, national and international conferences. She is a former member of the Board of Directors of NAGC and is past Chair of the NAGC Professional Standards Committee. She is the Series Editor of the NAGC Select publications. In 2002 she received the NAGC Early Leader Award. She received the Outstanding Administrative Service Award from Ball State in 2004, the Distinguished Service Award from NAGC in 2014, and the NAGC President’s Award in 2018. She is a Past President of the Indiana Association for the Gifted and of The Association for the Gifted, a division of the Council for Exceptional Children, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association for the Gifted. She has many publications, including 12 co-authored books, 25 book chapters, and numerous other publications. She was the co-author, the Project Director, and a PI of Project GATE, Project CLUE, and Project CLUE-Plus, three Jacob K. Javits grants. Previously, she was a math and science teacher for 15 years. She has two children and five grandchildren and has retired to Florida.
