This session explores the Directors' Cut, a curriculum module designed to synthesize leadership, performing arts, and reading standards. This module includes specific strategies (e.g., specific, playable directions) and resources to engage students in the directing process. By teaching and assessing these connections deliberately, we are not only preparing gifted students to be excellent directors but excellent leaders as well.
Learning Objectives:
Describe the connections between leadership standards and good practices in theater directing.
Implement assessments designed to measure leadership abilities within the performing arts setting.
Provide scaffolded learning experiences for students as they develop their directing skills.
