What do academic goals for students in creative and productive thinking look like? This presentation draws on research to examine five creative themes and the skills that creative thinkers develop over time. Concrete goals and learning strategies are discussed that can be used in developing individualized learning plans and in lesson modifications to help creatively gifted students flourish.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will understand the relationship between creative thinking skills and how they are measured in assessments commonly used to identify gifted learners in the area of creative/productive thinking.
Participants will understand how to define and monitor specific creative thinking skills and apply that knowledge to create meaningful, measurable, academic goals.
Participants will leave with examples of everyday classroom strategies that can be used to enhance creative thinking across multiple content areas.
