WE LEAD: A Leadership Education Program to Identify and Nurture Elementary Students of Color

There is a growing consensus among gifted education advocates of the need to increase access to leadership education and programming for students with leadership potential. Join us to learn about the success of the WE LEAD student leadership program. This session explores the importance of nurturing leadership talent and teaches how to replicate the WE LEAD program across districts and schools.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will acquire new ideas to implement a leadership program that seeks to develop leadership talent, especially in underrepresented students.
  • Participants will gain insight about identifying and developing leadership talent.
  • Participants will learn how leadership development contributes to talent development.
