Social-emotional learning (SEL) is an inherent part of gifted education. Understanding the symbiotic relationship between affective and academic learning is key to advocating for these services. How can we integrate specific social-emotional skills in classrooms to support resilience, self-awareness, self-advocacy, and more in our gifted and Twice-Exceptional students? This panel conversation brings together experts in the field to explore the place of SEL in gifted education.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will learn strategies to build and support social-emotional skills in gifted learners.
Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the connection between affective and academic instruction
Participants will engage with colleagues to identify opportunities for positive advocacy for SEL in the gifted classroom.
